Remove the foil after two hours, it is important that you wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattoo.

Wash your tattoo twice a day at least two weeks.

When removing the foil there may be excess ink or blood in the foil, please be aware of this.

Wash off the tattoo with *Unicura balance soap and tepid water please.

The temperature of the water should be moderate, not too hot or too cold. And rinse the soap well.

After rinsing the tattoo do not rub the skin dry, gently pat the wet skin with a clean towel or a clean kitchen paper. Absolutely do not rub the skin.

Apply the cream *BALM tattoo/Bepanthen tattoo on the skin at least three times a day for two weeks after getting the tattoo. (if the tattoo appears dry then you can apply it again) Apply a small amount and spread it over the skin, please make sure not to use too much ointment as the oiliness of it may cause other skin problems.

*products with artificial fragrances and pigments may have a negative effect on the skin compared to natural ingredients, so do not use it especially on tattooed skin.

Please wear clothing which can be taken on and off without too much constraint.

If you have a pet please be mindful of the tattooed skin, if your pets hair or dander come into contact with the tattooed skin please wash it off immediately.

Pets can be a source of bacteria and as such could cause infections of the tattooed skin.

Depending on your physical condition the time it takes for a tattoo to heal can differ, as such it might take a few weeks for your tattoo to heal.

To ensure a proper healing of the tattoo please avoid the following:

-Do not go tanning and apply sunscreen to your tattoo until it has healed completely.

-Do not go swimming or to the sauna, this carries a high risk of infection.

-Do not exercise, this causes the skin to stretch and the tattoo crack.

-Drinking alcohol can cause excessive bleeding, this makes a big scab.

These things either delay the healing process or damage the tattoo, as such we ask that you refrain from these things.

The steps in the healing process

  1. The surrounding skin becomes red and painful, this is a natural reaction to harm to the skin.

  2. Scabs form, please do not pull off the scabs as this will damage the tattoo. Please also make sure the scabs do not catch on your clothes or other things as this will also damage the tattoo.

  3. Itching, do not scratch your tattoo as this will also damage the tattoo. The itching is a natural reaction caused by the friction of the skin and the scab when the scabs are about to fall off.

  4. The scabs come off naturally as the skin heals.

  5. Flakes of skin are no longer visible and the skin becomes somewhat shiny. This is because of the skin being new, in time the tone and shine will become the same as the rest of the skin. Please do not be impatient with the returning of the skin to its normal tone. During the final step the skin is rather thin.

As such it is rather sensitive and susceptible to damage. The skin will return to normal, please allow it some time to heal.

In case you experience any symptoms which are not listed, please contact your physician.
